Vintage: 2016 was phenomenal. A warm spring was followed by a mild summer with just enough rain. Weather in September was optimal, allowing physiological and sugar ripeness with high but balanced acidity on an average sized crop.

Place: Willamette Valley: 57% Yamhill Vineyards, Yamhill-Carlton | 33% Loubejac, Willamette Valley | 10% The Eyrie Vineyards, Dundee Hills.

Winemaking: The 2016 Willamette Valley Chardonnay Sandi is a blend selected for its pedigree and intensity – it features the highest acidity, lowest alcohol and greatest presence of new wood. Each wine fermented with native yeasts, zero additions/adjustments except SO2 and went through full malolactic. After one year in barrel, this cuvée was assembled in stainless steel to age on lees for a second winter. Aging took place in a cold cellar in the Eola-Amity Hills with minimal lees stirring. The final blend has 45% new wood. Bottled 2/7/2018 unfined and unfiltered.

Chemistry: TA: 6.5 g/l | pH: 3.29 | VA: 0.47g/l | Ethanol: 12.89% | ~50ppm
